DANIELE

In Italy it’s raining ... in Siena it has been raining for several days and the days are becoming increasingly gray. Fortunately there are our guests/friends –more friends than guests - who are sending us photos and even if... far from us they express us their affection. In short they love us we love them .... This is certainly the case with the De Luca’s family. Daniele, the boss, was born and grew up in Siena after the second world war. Very hard time. He met Mary Ann in Rome ...
American girls were much appreciated by Italian guys at the 50s as well as now. However Mary Ann is a very beautiful woman and it is not difficult to understand why Daniele fell in love with her. When Daniele tells me some episodes of his life in Rome it’s a dive into the past at the "Dolce Vita" time.
His love for Mary Ann brought Daniele to U.S. Today he’s "proud of being American" but his heart still beats for the Italian friends in Siena. Daniele doesn’t love to fly but Mary Ann persuades him even last summer and they flew to the Czech Republic to discover the origins of Mary Ann and then of course to Borgo Grondaie. Ines meets them at Borgo ..... I almost forgot ..... Mary Ann, Daniel and Ines are respectively parents of the young bride couple of which photos and article is on our blog. Their children decided to get married in Siena and Borgo Grondaie was very happy to have them all here. But let me come back to the story .... Mary Ann, Ines and Daniele were here this summer. This morning Mary Ann sent me photos of last summer: one of my child (I was pregnant when their children were married in 2007) and one of Daniele at Borgo Gondaie with some sienese friends. I want to publish this article and photos as a Christmas present to Daniele. Ciao Daniele, I hope you have a Merry Christmas together with all your family and remember that we always think of you.
