When we started building up the pool in 2002 we immediately wondered what could make it more attractive to customers. Among the various solutions the pool-builder proposed us to establish a pool of saltwater. The idea sounds great!! We hoped to avoid having to build a pipeline from Siena to the sea and that it didn’t charge too much on our budget.
The pool was built... among hundreds of problems (rain that blocked the work, trucks that always get inside the gardens and destroyed all) but
in the end it was there ready to welcome the first diver ….. and water was really salty. Not salty like the sea, I would say rather as salt as water use for cooking pasta.

The best thing was that finally there was a pool without the horrible chlorine smell…. Therefore it didn’t fade tanned skin and the use of chemical products had been reduced to zero. The ingredients for disinfecting water are the common salt and a special French machine used for thalassotherapy that exploits the electrolysis principle. After six years I can tell you that we are still excited about having spent something more for a product of the highest level and still very rare in the landscape of hotels and residences with swimming pool.
